Dee Street Summer School runs as six 2 x hour workshops over three weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays from January 6th.
100% of proceeds are being donated to Wires Animal Rescue.
Deepen your d-floor knowledge and skills, kickstart your fitness for the new year and have fun with the sisterhood twice a week in Jan. We’ll also be attending some social events on the weekends for those who are keen.
Mondays will be led by the Dee Street teaching team: Sarah, Kate and
Vanessa leading the way through different aspects of Flow (sass, sensual moves and grounded sexy feels), Rhythm (getting confident about the beat - we can never do this too much!), Power (takin up space baby) and Freedom (finding your mojo and setting it loose!) in a super fun routine.
Wednesdays are unique, specialised workshops led by our wonderful dancing friends, all experts in their fields:
Trisnasari will teach some serious hip-shaking, dropping and shimmying techniques
Grace will share knowledge and moves from her ancestors and modern incarnations with authentic Afrodances from various African countries
Mitzi will get us beating traditional west African Dun Dun drums as we step in time and dance Guinean style - woahhhh!
This will be an affirming, fun and inspiring start to the year. It’s taking place at Dee Street HQ in North Fitzroy - numbers are strictly limited.
