Our young women's program consists of 1 hour classes where teenage women will learn dance moves from various genres (Afro, Hip Hop, Dancehall, etc.) about where they originated and put them into a routine.

We teach activation of the the major muscle groups that support us in dance and everyday life as well as stretches that can be done anytime to strengthen the body and help relieve tension, stress and anxiety.

This is a space to release energy and have fun with the potential to improve body image, awareness and confidence in taking up space.

Dee Street’s unique format and teaching style is based on an ethos that women are powerful, creative, vital and precious beings who thrive in groups.

Our program offers positive and affirming ways to connect to the physical body and a space to connect to female centric music and amazing dance moves.

We encourage each woman to be herself and celebrate that every body moves differently.

AGES 10 - 17

We are super excited to be moving all our bookings and class management to the DanceStudio Pro dance studio software management system. Once you've created an account, you will be able to book in for classes, access our student portal, manage bookings and communicate easily with us as needed.

If you have danced with us before, you will most likely be in the system already, so please follow the prompts and add all the details the system asks for then book in.

If you're new to Dee Street please create your new account and select the add student option to complete the process and book in.

The system is set up to work for families who have more than one member in a family, this may throw you off a little so please be patient, just add yourself as a student and you should be able to book.

PLEASE NOTE you will not be able to view courses until you have entered your birthdate and refreshed the page.

If you have definitely tried all the options for signing in / booking and are still having difficulties, please get in touch and we'll help you through.

Remember, it will be a little bit more work the first time you use the system, but once you're in, you'll have an account and as a returner will have full access to the portal, your returning dancers discount will be permanently in our system and added to future purchases and we'll be able to easily communicate with you as needed.

Please contact Sarah on 0415385093 OR with any questions.

Sarah Dee and Chafia Brooks met on a Community Engagement project collaboration with local heath service providers some years ago, employing their respective skills of Youth Worker and Dance Therapist to a group of recently arrived young people.

During this time they soon discovered they both shared a passion for exploring new ways of how dance could be delivered and a firm belief through both personal and teaching experience that it can vastly improve health and wellbeing on so many levels.

Through the work that we both do at Dee Street and in youth work and dance therapy contexts, we know how important it is for young women to have the space and support to gain new skills, spend time in a group, be active and just have fun together.

We are dedicated to providing safety, respect and fun during these sessions. Please feel free to get in touch with Sarah if you'd like to find out more or discuss whether the young woman in your life would benefit from the program.
